As we near the end of our Fall season, 1014 would like to take a moment to introduce our new team members!
Jamie Isaacs (she/her) joined the 1014 team in May as our Communication and Program Associate and has already settled into the swing of things! She brings several years of non-profit, marketing, photography, and hospitality experience to the table, while also having a deep passion for social justice and the arts. When asked about why she felt drawn to 1014, Jamie explained that 1014 felt like the perfect career match for her, checking off several interest boxes, and has made her fully believe that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. 1014 creates the perfect analytical and creative balance, and brought Jamie back into the non-profit space that she missed dearly. Jamie graduated from Cazenovia College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Management, with a specialization in Equine Business Management and a Minor in Studio Art: Photography. While marketing, communications, and photography is where she professionally thrives, Jamie still enjoys her roots in the horse industry, and will find any excuse to talk about movies, Taylor Swift, or her cats, Winnie and Ruth. When Jamie isn’t working a 1014 event or at the movie theater, you can find her planning and hosting her own events that will always include an elaborate charcuterie board.
Kyra Ann Dawkins (she/her) is so excited to join the 1014 team as the Associate for Organizational Development. While she has had the privilege of exploring a variety of different fields, namely public health, international relations, and performing arts, Kyra is most passionate about facilitating fruitful communal dialogue and embracing the power of words at-large. She hopes to dedicate her career to honoring human voices. Kyra especially looks forward to helping to foster continual trans-Atlantic exchange at 1014. After having many academic and creative pieces published, Kyra’s novel The We and the They debuted in 2020. Much of her written work, while grappling with dystopian themes, is inspired by oral tradition, a way of knowing that has intellectual and personal significance for Kyra. She graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York in 2020, where she majored in Medicine, Literature, and Society. She is currently pursuing her M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Fiction) at Columbia as well. Kyra enjoys Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone and is a huge Mickey Mouse fan. When she isn’t visiting museums, you can often find her listening to jazz, spouting off puns, or annoying her younger siblings.
Welcome to the team, Jamie and Kyra! 1014 is excited to have you.
